The Home Hero did a complete remodel of my bathroom for me, and they did a fabulous job. Pete was great about communicating with me both before and during the project, and predicted how long it would take with complete accuracy. Rich and Jeff, the guys who did the work, did an excellent job, and were very pleasant to have around the house. They managed to work in a very tight space, and to deal perfectly with all the quirks of my old row house. I'm thrilled with my new bathroom, and with how easy The Home Hero made the whole process.

This is a business I really do trust. Pete and his staff are friendly, helpful, and punctual. I've used The Home Hero for a few odd jobs already and they are always such a pleasure to work with.

But what really sets them apart is that if for some reason they cannot help you with something, they have no problem helping you find someone who can. I called recently and Pete was more than willing to suggest a window business to me and even told me to call back if I need any other references. Amazing!

Home Hero is Faaaaaan-freaking-tastic!!!!!

OK so I had another contractor do some work in my house & majorly C#cked it up. That same contractor wanted to charge me hundreds more to fix HIS mistakes - are you kidding me....

So I did what I should have done in the first place checked Yelp, I always trust yelp and lessoned learned.

I got the half day handy man package with Home Hero and I have to say sheeez the guy that came out Chris was amazing...... fixed the mess the previous contractor made & did a waaaaaaay better job, he then put together a basketball hoop for my 7 year old son in my backyard & also did an amazing job installing a swinging chair that hangs from the ceiling for my son.

There were absolutely NO corners cut with Home Hero and it seemed like no job was too big or too small for Home Hero. If I ever need work around the house again I WILL be calling home hero again, even the office staff were friendly and helpful over the phone and unlike other contractors they didnt expect all the money upfront. I paid half when I booked & half upon completion.....

All other contractors need to take a lesson from Home Hero - YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

Happy with 'Home Hero?! No, ecstatic is more like it. I had a long, long list of needed repairs (from carpentry to wall board repair to replacing batteries in smoke detectors on my 16 foot high ceilings). My hero came on time, did everything to my satisfaction and couldn't have been nicer. Thank you Home Hero.

We called The Home Hero when we had a problem with a leak coming from our tub on the second floor of our house. They were really great. Pete Rose, the owner, called us back fast and sent one of his guys to look at it. He was awesome - he got into a crawlspace to look around, and then opened up part of the ceiling to get a better look. He was able to diagnose the problem pretty quick. They were able to work around our schedule, and during the holiday season. We really appreciate everything they did, and if we ever need work done around the house again, we'll give them a call. Their prices were very reasonable and well worth it.

Got the four hour handyman package. Even though I had a small job (taking down curtains, hanging new ones, building an Ikea bed and hanging some picture frames), they really took the time to make me feel like an important customer. The work was very high quality and both Pete the owner and Jeff who actually did everything were awesome. These guys are the best you can get, and the prices are pretty darn nice too! If you need a handyman/contractor in Philly, Home Hero is the place to go!

I got the half day handyman package to buy a bathroom fan, install it, and touch up my leaky tub. They completed all within the two hours with time to spare and they were the easiest people to work with. I was in D.C. the whole time and I did not have a problem with anything. Hey Moms!
So I wanted to post about my recent experience with Peter Rose, 'The Home Hero', who was one of the recommendations I was given from mom's on this group list serve when I was in need of someone to help me with baby proofing my home. Not sure about all of you, but working full-time, leaves me with minimal resources left to conquer the idea of baby proofing the home...the idea of needing to do this was completely overwhelming to me! Basically Peter took care of EVERYTHING from creative ways to baby proof impossible things in the house, to purchasing these items, as well as taking my anxiety away and making myself, my husband, and Isabella laugh in the process! He also did way more than just baby proofing. We had so many things that we had wanted to take care of in the house but 'just never got around to it' such as mounting a flat screen, building shelves, basement issues, rewiring things, etc. Also, I cannot speak enough to, and I am sure you all can understand, to be able to go to work and trust the person you are leaving in your home! Priceless! Needless to say this overwhelming task was made super easy by using Peter. He was dependable, reliable, always on-time and fun! And Yes...This is a real person! HA!

I always like to share treasures that I find because they are so hard to come by!

Home Hero was Great!

We put a request on Service Magic for a contractor to come and do handyman work around our house. We have a long list of up-dates we want to make to the house. Pete at Home Hero responded right away and after being stood up by 4 other contractors, he actually called to confirm and see if he could come a bit early.

Pete came to the house and we walked through as I pointed out things I wanted to update. His prices were reasonable and he was very upfront about the work. He emailed me a list of prices shortly after the visit and we hired his company to come do some electical work.

His worker was courteous and prompt, they came 2 days in a row to accomodate our schedule when the work could have been done in 1 day. After I paid the bill Pete called me to tell me I had overpaid and he would be sending me a check for the difference.

We had used another contractor previously who showed up 3 hours late and did shotty work. After Home Hero came and did work we decided we definitely would not be using anyone else! I highly recommend Pete and his extremely professional and knowledgable crew!

But it got to the point where all of our free time was spent on projects, and I wanted to hire someone who could complete a task in hours, instead of the weekend it would take us to do it ourselves. I'm pretty picky, considering that I'm using to working with my husband who is neat, precise, mindful of my budget, and a perfectionist. Pete is all this and more - and he can get the job done a lot faster!! Pete is very personable and a nice guy to have in your house doing work. He also made some suggestions to my original plan that made the solution so much better. He was able to price the job with us getting most of the supplies on our own, or he could have purchased them for us, and we would pay only his cost, no upcharge. He also priced the job with us finishing the drywall (my husband will sand and paint) which saved him a trip back to our house, and saved us the $$. This flexibility was welcomed. And I know I can always call and add this to a new job now if my husband doesn't get around to it... Pete, I'll be calling you in about a week... ;) From now on I'm splitting my honey-do list between my husband and The Home Hero!!

The owner of The Home Hero contaced me only hours later, and we agreed that someone would arrive at my home the next morning to make the repairs. The work to be done included patching and painting and reinstalling a shower rod that was sagging. I was completely satisfied with the work that was done and appreciative of the fact that the handyman voluntarily removed his boots and cleaned up debris from the workspace. I would absolutely call on The Home Hero again.

Well first of all, we're really pleased with how our shower turned out. We had a custom structural element that we wanted incorporated into the design, and Pete not only made it work, but got really enthusiastic about it. I am a type-A personality and usually feel the need to hover when work is being done to make sure it's being done right, but with Pete, I was able to trust and let go because it was obvious that a) he knows what he's doing, and b) he might be just as much of a perfectionist as I am. This sometimes meant that the work took a bit longer than estimated, but I'd rather have the job done right than rushed to meet a timeline. He takes so much pride in his work and has such high expectations for the finished product - it's really refreshing. Another thing that became clear was how much care Pete took when putting together his team. Surprisingly, one of the best parts of the job was how great it was to have them working here each day. They were not only skilled at their individual trades, but they were genuinely good people. They were so considerate and thoughtful of us and our home and went out of their way to make sure that the workspace was clean at the end of every work day. Honestly, we kind of miss having them around - sounds odd, right? But true. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
